Explosives Detection Dog Handler

We are recruiting in advance of contract for the experienced explosives detection dog handlers to work at various locations throughout continental Africa.



Responsibilities and Duties: 


 **Must possess a current active DoD Secret clearance** 


  • The Canine Handler Team will be required to search for and identify explosive threats at commercial venues.


  • Venues may be large stadium-type environments or airport cargo and  luggage processing facilities, either will require handlers who are  experienced at interfacing with the public and presenting a professional  image and demeanor at all times.


  • Customers include, but are not  limited to, professional sports teams, major airlines and cargo  shippers. Handlers must be comfortable interacting with the customer’s  executive leadership, facilities managers and security personnel.


  • Handlers must be comfortable scanning crowds and cargo with their canines to identify potential person-borne explosives.


  • Handlers will be responsible for maintaining training records to maintain certification.


  • Handlers may be required to work additional hours as directed.


  • Able to complete all required administrative tasks, such as time cards  and expense reports, accurately and on time to your supervisor.



 

Qualifications and Skills


  • Minimum of 2 years Handler experience in canine explosive detection duties.


  • Handling experience within the past 3 years.


  • -Former Law Enforcement or Military K9 background.


  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.


  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and in a team environment.


  • Exercise sound judgment in all areas of responsibility.


  • Maintain effective professional relationships with employees and outside individuals and agencies.


  • Able to understand and successfully handle various operational issues.

 

  • Honorable Discharge for military service.


  • Able to assess and make decisive operational decisions in high-stress environments.


  • No negative background history to include DUIs or other alcohol/drug related arrests, criminal, financial, etc.


  • No Felony or Domestic Violence convictions.


  • Must be flexible with deployment and rotation schedule of 60 to 90 days.


  • Must possess valid US Driver's License.


  • Must possess current US Tourist Passport.


  • A US Passport Card is required.

Animal Care & Kennel Operations Technician

We are recruiting for a part-time Animal Care & Kennel Operations Technician.  This role will provide care for the basic needs of canines that are  being trained at the Burns Group International Canine Training Center in Wenatchee, WA.  The incumbent will also  be responsible for the everyday up-keep of the facility kennels and  surrounding interior/exterior areas.



Responsibilities and Duties:

 

  • Thoroughly cleans and disinfects kennel areas as often as necessary  (i.e. to ensure no crates or kennels are soiled and odors are  mitigated).  Ensures kennels are labeled correctly and includes all necessary information.  Maintains the facility by performing tasks  including, but not limited to, sweeping/mopping floors, wiping counters,  taking out trash, cleaning bathrooms, and checking equipment and  supplies.  Washes and sterilizes water and food bowls daily.


  • Observe animal appearance and activity for general physical  condition, obvious signs of illness, disease and discontent.


  • Show  genuine compassion for all working canines.


  • Exercises canines several times a day to provide exercise and time  for elimination of bowels and bladder as directed by training personnel.


  • Assists veterinary staff while on site.  Administers and records  medications distributed as indicated by the Director of Canine Training  and the Veterinarian.


  • Patrols facility grounds daily (front, back and sides), picking up  any trash and stool material. Ensures canine break areas/exercise areas  are maintained and free of dangers.


  • Bathes canines when necessary.



Qualifications & Skills


  • Ability to recognize obvious canine signs of illness, disease and discontent.


  • Have a solid foundation and understanding of how bacteria is controlled or eliminated.


  • Expertise in canine medical documentation and medication administration.


  • Previous dog kenneling experience.


  • Compassion for canines.


  • High School Diploma.


  • Prior Veterinary Technician or Kennel Technician experience preferred.


  • Veterinarian Technician Certification preferred.


  • Must be able to obtain a Secret Clearance

Armed Mobile Security Specialist

 Responsibilities and Duties: 


**Must possess a current active DoD Secret clearance**


  • Responsible for the day-to-day mobile armed security activities protecting USG personnel.


  • Maintain exceptional proficiency of all Tactics, Techniques and Procedures of the mobile security position.


  • Identify problems and implement solutions in coordination with team lead.


  • Work all aspects of sponsor personnel protection, which includes  route and site security planning, movement operations and site security  in support of sponsor.


  • Assist team leaders with planning and organizing activities to meet sponsor needs.


  • Attend meetings as required.
  • Comply with all federal, state and foreign government laws.


  • Other duties, responsibilities or projects as assigned.



 Qualifications & Skills 


  • Must possess a current active Secret clearance.


  • US Citizen.


  • Minimum of 6 years active duty U.S. military combat experience  in a Special Operations unit and MOS (PJ, SF, SEAL, CCT, Ranger etc.)-no  exceptions.  Must supply copies of Member- 4 or Service-2 DD214s to  cover all active duty service periods. 


  • Honorable Discharge for military service.


  • Able to assess and make decisive operational decisions in high-stress environments.


  • No negative background history to include DUIs or other alcohol/drug related arrests, criminal, financial, etc.


  • No Felony or Domestic Violence convictions.


  • Must be flexible with deployment and rotation schedule of 60 to 90 days.

Physical Requirements


  • Must be in good physical condition with the ability to pass a  physical fitness test and endure approximately one month of rigorous  pre-deployment training.


  • Must be able to pass a psychological screening and Wonderlic short employment tests.


  • Willing to work in excess of 12 hours per day.
